Rodrigo played bass in ToyShop, the São Paulo band originally known as Party Up. Its Roadrunner album Party Up (1999) was produced by Sylvia Massy and recorded at Sound City in Los Angeles.

The band’s earlier story includes the Beerock demo and sessions in Phoenix with producer Iggor Cavalera for Banguela Records, the label created with Warner, Titãs and Carlos Eduardo Miranda. In a 2017 interview, drummer Guilherme Martin recalled that the Phoenix master was shelved before the Roadrunner rerecording.
