The Shetland Spree, Episode 1: The Fieldwork Proposal and the Accordion & Fiddle Festival

This is the first episode of the series I hope to make, telling the story of my involvement in the Shetland music scene as an ethnographer and anthropologist. The journey starts at the end of September 2012, in Edinburgh, and follows to Aberdeen and Shetland, to the towns of Lerwick, and the isles of Whalsay and Yell. I discuss briefly my fieldwork proposal and provide some thoughts about the Shetland music scene. The footage represents my earliest efforts experimenting with video editing and composition.
